Every March 19^th New Orleans Catholics celebrate St. Joseph’s Day by constructing elaborate altars to honor the relief St. Joseph provided during a famine in Sicily. The tradition began in the late 1800’s when Sicilian immigrants settled in New Orleans.

Preparations begin each January for our St. Joseph Altar on March 19th. Come join us in Jerome Hall on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.
