The School of Religion CCD (Confraternity of Christian Doctrine) Program is for children from 1st to 11th grade who do not attend a Catholic School. This program supplies a religious education in accordance with the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church and norms established by the Archdiocese of New Orleans. This education includes the Holy Bible, Christology and other Church teachings, the sacraments, prayer, and more. It includes sacramental preparation for First Reconciliation and First Communion, while Confirmation Prep is a seperate program.
The Confirmation Program prepares 11th and 12th grade students for the Sacrament of Confirmation. This is in addition to, not a replacement for, religion classes at a Catholic High School or our School of Religion CCD Program. It includes six classes on the Sacrament of Confirmation, a retreat, service hours, and choosing a confirmation saint.
The RCIA prepares converts to the Catholic Church from other Christian denominations or other non-Christian religions for entrance into the Catholic Church and the reception of the Sacraments of Initiation. It includes classes, Mass attendance, prayer, and other formation.
The Adult Confirmation Program is for adult Catholics who haven't yet received the Sacrament of Confirmation. It will prepare you to receive Confirmation through several classes, choosing a patron saint, and spiritual preparation. We usually have two opportunities for Confirmation each year, so please contact us to get started.
